Academic Teaching as Research

We have had the pleasure of teaching across various institutions and disciplines internationally and approach academic teaching as a form of speculative research: a space for testing ideas across scales, from urban planning and complex public buildings to interiors and material details. The accelerated and experimental nature of the design studio allows questions to be explored more broadly than real-life planning and construction processes often permit. At the same time, teaching creates a framework for critically reflecting on our own constantly evolving practice, methods and assumptions.
