Kopli 93 is entering a new phase of development as one of five pilot projects within the international BRICKS project (Building Resilient Innovation in Communities through Knowledge & Social Innovation). BRICKS overarching objective is to demonstrate how Social Entrepreneurship Initiatives that root their value proposition in Place-Based Innovation can contribute to the co-creation of neighbourhoods that embody New European Bauhaus values - sustainability, inclusion, and aesthetics - through viable, scalable, and investment-ready business models.Over three years, the pilot project explores how grassroots innovation can support the development of the existing community repair workshop. Working together with local residents, new functions and services will be tested to extend the makerspace provision.

BRICKS brings together 22 partners from 9 European countries. The Kopli 93 pilot is developed locally in collaboration with the Tallinn Strategic Management Office, Spatialist Studies, Tallinn University of Technology and the North Tallinn District Government. The project is funded by the European Union through the Horizon Europe New European Bauhaus programme.
