Nõmme Farmers’ Market

Nõmme farmers’ market is a popular family-oriented local market but its public space was lacking pleasant areas for lingering. In this first phase, we proposed focusing primarily on the provision of areas that encourage slower-paced, on-site consumption. This approach helps establish a clear spatial distinction between areas intended for lingering and social interaction, and those designed for fast, takeaway-oriented use. More permanent, long-term solutions were reserved for a later development phase, during which the fundamental principles of spatial organisation, surface materials, permanent planting, and other essential elements will be addressed in greater depth.

For the upcoming season, we introduced a series of light, strategic interventions. These comprise a coordinated approach to small-scale architectural elements such as a seating and play area, planters, benches, movable outdoor furniture, local lighting, and seasonal planting.
